Since the early 1980’s, when Rob tasted his first Port, he has nurtured a dream of making a nectar just as heavenly and complex. Throughout his winemaking career, Rob has had the opportunity to travel to Portugal and taste many fine examples of the real thing. A Colheita is an aged Tawny Port made with grapes from a single vintage. The wine is bottled only when the producer decides the Port is ready to drink, and should be enjoyed in the following year or so. Colheita is a relatively rare style which is a shame as many are exceptional, combining all the sweet, dried fruit and nutty finesse of an aged Tawny with individual vintage character. To be labeled a Colheita, the wine must be aged for a minimum of 7 years and will have the bottle date listed on the back of the bottle.
