Trish Trish
Trish (or as her mum calls her ‘Patricia’) Rogers, now officially Mrs. Patricia Ridgeway is our sales diva. Trish first came to this country in 1982 as a diva of a different kind; she was then singing with ‘Terra Nova’, a popular traditional Irish folk group. After five years on the road here, she hung up her guitar — we do get her to take it out once in a while — and returned to managing restaurants, a skill remembered from previous lives in Ireland, Britain and continental Europe. Trish remembers getting bitten by the Oregon bug when she met Fred Arterberry and tasted his Pinot noir sometime about 1990. She spent twelve years in the Southeast, selling wines in South Carolina and Georgia until eventually, Trish migrated west to become National Sales Manager for Erath Vineyards, where she stayed for four years. In December of 2001 Trish and Molly (her now 16 year old, carrot-topped side-kick — another diva!) moved home to Annagassan, Ireland where their home is near a quiet strand, built within and around the remnants of a 14th century tower house. Trish’s husband Tom (Mr. Ridgeway) takes care of their horses and the family wolfhounds when Trish crosses the pond each month to stoke R. Stuart & Co. fires all across the U.S.A.

making things better

Hello again, from a distance… how are you? I had my first glass of wine outdoors in 2010 this week, I hope you’ve been luckier. Despite the variety of time-zones and locales year-to-date, seems like I just haven’t had my synchronicity switch tripped. The glass of Gris (I should say glee!) I had in the sunshine did it for me, all is good with the world, summer is coming, hallelujah! I... [Read more]

Q2, hello!

Hello Pinot-people, greetings from Ireland this week and welcome to April. Is it Spring yet? We had snow here yesterday and hail the day before – what is going on? Welcome to my blog. I have no idea what this will be, but here we are. I am sure it will feel like a travelogue sometimes, a food-a-logue others (is that a new noun?) and I’m sure there will be many times when wine will be... [Read more]
